2015 Topps Allen & Ginter: Box 9 - Packs 19 - 24 (Ninja Stars and TWO Relic Hits!)

We already pulled a silk card and an autographed card out of the current box.  With only six packs remaining, there should be one more hit to discover!

Box 9:
Packs 19 - 24:

Box #9 ended up being a great, great box.  For starters, I almost definitely should have made this one my Gint-a-Cuffs box.   When all is said and done, there were FOUR hits in the box (an auto, two relics, plus the silk).  There were also FOUR black bordered minis (including a short print) and lots of other goodies as well.  One such "other goodie" was the final full-sized insert that I needed from the box:

That's a Shuriken - or a throwing/ninja star.  The shuriken were designed to be hidden in a person's hand and then thrown at a victim's fleshy parts (particularly a face).  Nasty little thing indeed!

As I said earlier, box 9 ended up producing four hits which was a surprise to me!  The final two hits are both relics - first up, the more boring "regular relic" design:

Mark Teixeira - as a Yankee.  The one good thing about this not being my Gint-a-Cuffs box is that the Yankee hit won't be halved in terms of points (assuming similar scoring as in previous editions of the contest).  The bad news is that this is basically an extra hit - and even at half point value that would go a long way to securing a top box score!

My other hit isn't any more exciting in terms of material - but the team is certainly of interest to more bloggers out there!

Yeah, that's Hyun-Jin Ryu of the Dodgers - and a great way to end a really spectacular box!

At this point, three more boxes remain in the case - and what a case it has been (and all of that is without a rip card yet)!  Quite frankly, the case has been good enough that even if I don't get a rip card I'll be ok this year - kudos to Topps for that!

Love the Shuriken card. I have really thought about chasing this set just for the inserts.
