Gint-a-Cuffs 2015: Pack 2 (A Mini SP Opens the Scoring)

Welcome back to another Gint-a-Cuffs post.  I've already opened up the box topper (not much to see there) and the first pack.  Chances are, I'm already behind the pace set by others (I'm writing these posts on July 26 - the rules haven't even been posted yet).  No matter, let's see how pack 2 treats us!

Points so far: 13 (barring any point change for the box topper)

Pack 2:

24.  Appomattox Court House
247.  George Springer
106.  Yunel Escobar
255.  Steven Moya
310.  Chris Coghlan
136.  Tyson Ross
Menagerie of the Mind:  MM-4.  Phoenix  (+2 points)
Reg. back mini:  333.  Chase Utley  (+3 points for being a short print)

The Chase Utley is a short printed regular back mini.  Topps was a bit weird this year in that the regular base cards numbered 301+ are actually NOT short printed!  The minis are short printed though.

Pack total:  5 lousy points
Points so far:   18 points

I'm certainly not busting down the door to the top spot in the contest at this rate, that's for sure.  That said, I'm actually so happy with my case that Gint-a-Cuffs is really the cherry on top of the sundae!  In fact, I know that I had other boxes in my case that would have done much, much better than this box for the Gint-a-Cuffs competition (red ink auto, flag back mini, and even a wood mini) but that's ok - this was the box that I picked out (and it's still a solid box - but whether it'll be enough to bring home the bacon...well....only time will tell)!

Comments

  1. I saved my box topper for the final post because I don't want to adjust the running total for every pack whenever the ruling on box topper points gets clarified.

  2. Yeah, that would have been a lot smarter...but then again no one has ever accused me of being smart!
