Barry Larkin
Year: 2015
Brand: Topps High Tek
Parallel set: Dots (Pattern 2B)
Card number: HT-BL
In the 2015 Topps High Tek set, Topps divided the players into two different groups (called A and B). Barry happened to fall into the B grouping which means the most common parallel of his takes the Dots pattern (A players have the Spiral pattern as their most common parallel). Every box of 2015 Topps High Tek comes with one Spiral and one Dots card which means these parallels are almost as common as the regular base cards (which come slightly more than two per box). High Tek is confusing at first but once you get some cards in hand things start to make a bit more sense.
Looking at the actual Larkin card, the Dots pattern name pretty much perfectly sums up the pattern itself. It's a bunch of dots in a circular design. Personally, I think I prefer the Dots design over the Waves design of the "regular" base card. Of course, this is a High Tek parallel so other than the background this particular card is exactly the same as the regular Larkin base. It should be noted that there are a total of six different base card versions for Barry in the set - and in due time you'll see all six on my blog!
