Barry Larkin
Year: 2015
Brand: Topps High Tek
Parallel set: Grid (Pattern 6B)
Card number: HT-BL
We've finally made it to the final of the six regular base card versions in the 2015 Topps High Tek set. The Grid pattern is for the "B" players while the "A" players get the Stripes pattern. Once again, I think the B pattern is much nicer (which is great since Barry Larkin is part of the B group)!
As the final base parallel, the sixth level of parallels are extremely tough pulls. In fact, in a case you only get a single level 6 pattern - either one Stripes or one Grid card and that's it! Doing the math, it would appear that Topps must have only made about 25 of each level 6 parallel.
That's pretty crazy rare, but there is one more pattern that is even rarer (a level 7 parallel seeded one in every other case). However, that parallel only includes "A" players so Larkin's run of base card parallels ends here.
All isn't quite over though as there are a number of serially numbered diffractor parallels to track down as well (plus a bunch of autographs). I now own many of the extra cards as well so you'll be getting a glimpse of all of them in the near future!

Loving all these versions of the Topps High Tek. Looks like you now have all the Larkin versions. Oh what I wouldn't do for just one? I guess I will have to visit e-bay also.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking cards and thanks for the parallel education.
Joe, shoot me an email. I can hook you up with one :)
