Barry Larkin
Year: 1997
Brand: UD3 (Upper Deck Cubed)
Card number: 34
The 1997 UD3 set was a high-end set for the late 90s, each pack contained a mere three cards - all of which were from a different subset (or insert set). Larkin's base card fell in the ProMotion subset - a subset that utilized Light F/X (or etched foil) for the main design element. The card obviously doesn't scan particularly well...but it looks ok in person. I don't think I'd ever try to buy a box of the set though...seems too pricey for what you get!
This is the only Barry Larkin card in the set - and there are no parallels so at least that's something! For my money, the back of the card is actually nicer than the front...which isn't ideal since the front of the card uses the "special" etched foil design! Oh well, you can't win 'em all!
