Brand: Upper Deck SP
Card number: 18
Insert set: Marquee Matchups
The 20-card Marquee Matchups insert set was the most common of the insert sets in the 1997 edition of Upper Deck SP (seeded 1:5 packs). The design uses Upper Deck's typical foil board, along with a bit of die-cutting on the upper right corner. While the card does look better in person (as compared to the scan), it's still not a favorite of mine. In fact, I think the part that I like the least is the back of the card - although it's a Larkin card, the bulk of the backside is dedicated to Deion Sanders...and for reasons that are unknown to me, you only get to see Sanders' legs on the backside (while you get the rest of Deion's body on the front of the card). It's weird, and I don't like it.
