The 1998 Upper Deck Special F/X set is a partial parallel of Upper Deck's base set. The biggest thing you'll notice about this set is the thickness of the cards (they are about twice as thick as Upper Deck's regular base cards from 1998). You'll also probably notice an obscene amount of etched foil on the front of the card. I guess this was to make the cards seem more "high end" but to me they seem sort of tacky. I don't think this design aged well at all...though I am still happy to have the Larkin card in my collection!
