You probably wouldn't expect an owl to ever deliver you a cat...and certainly not via the postal service. And yet, back in May of this year, that's exactly what Greg (aka Night Owl) did for me.
Alright, to clarify that cat was, more specifically, a Sphynx - and it was a card, not a live animal. In fact, the Sphynx card was the last "non-stupid short print" that I needed from the 2014 A&G Little Lions set.
I'll even ignore the slightly dinged corner while I put it in my binder. After all, it's still in good enough shape (plus I'm more of a dog person than a cat guy anyhow).
In addition to the Sphynx, Greg also sent along a smattering of Reds including some Opening Day Reds that were new to me. Of the three he sent my way, the easy choice for "best picture" goes to Billy Hamilton.
Unfortunately for Billy (and Reds fans), Billy can't seem to hit the ball or get on base with any sort of regularity which makes his speed almost meaningless in a game (although I suppose his speed does help him play good defense).
Thanks for the envelope of cards, Greg! And, as always, if anyone else would like to trade please check out my want list and make an offer.

I hope that Billy is able to turn it around when it comes to getting on base. I don't want him to suffer the same fate as another speedster that played for the Reds (Drew Stubbs anyone?)!
ReplyDeleteDing? I don't remember a ding! That postal guy is always too rough with the packages.
ReplyDeleteBaseball Reference has Hamilton's WAR for the year at 0.3, but like you said, it's all on the defensive side of the ball.
