Barry Larkin

The 1990 Star brand put out a set of 11 cards that all featured Barry Larkin. Actually, they put out a bunch of cards featuring Larkin, but for the purposes of today's post we are only focusing on the main Larkin set which contains 11 cards. Each card has the same design, but both the image on the front and the information on the back of the card are different (which I definitely appreciate).
As you can see with the first card, you get a checklist showing off the contents of all 11 cards in the set. I like the front image just fine (it's a different shot from the usual action shots) and I like the large team logo on the back (but otherwise the back of the card is kind of dull here since it's only a checklist).
Over the next few Barry Larkin Collection posts, I'll go through all of the ten remaining cards in the set. As you'll see, they make for a fairly nice collection - and a great summary of Larkin's young career up to that point in time.
