Group Break: Box Hit Time!

Happy Friday - and somehow, it's the first Friday of November already!  One good bit about that - political attack ads should soon disappear from the tv airwaves.  I live in Pennsylvania but most of my local networks are out of New York state...and let me tell you, some of the NY politicians really don't seem to like each other.  If even one-third of what either says about the other person is true, I don't think I'd vote for either candidate if I were a New Yorker.

That really has nothing to do with baseball cards, but hey, at least it gave me a way to start a post without saying "here's some more group break cards."  Am I right?

Alright, fine.  Here are some more group break cards.

1997 Leaf Limited:
Pack 9:
13.  Edgar Renteria - Marlins / Alex Rodriguez - Mariners

40.  Mark Grudzielanek - Expos / Nomar Garciaparra - Red Sox
24.  Ron Gant - Cardinals / Gary Sheffield - Marlins
146.  Brian Jordan - Cardinals / Jose Guillen - Pirates
124.  Alan Benes - Cardinals / Roger Clemens - Blue Jays

Pack 10:
124.  Manny Ramirez - Indians / Tim Salmon - Angels

Pack 11:
113.  Eric Owens - Reds / Trey Beamon - Padres
139.  Dwight Gooden - Yankees / Justin Thompson - Tigers
30.  Julio Franco - Indians / Ryne Sandberg - Cubs
56.  Ryan McGuire - Expos / Tino Martinez - Yankees
Limited Exposure parallel:  104.   Chris Holt - Astros / Ismael Valdes - Dodgers

That's a nice Limited Exposure parallel - I like those quite a bit!

Pack 12:
143.  Matt Morris - Cardinals / Kevin Brown - Marlins
96.  Derrek Lee - Padres / Joe Carter - Blue Jays
107.  Tony Gwynn - Padres

14.  Vinny Castillo - Rockies / Matt Williams - Indians
41.   Chris Widger - Expos / Todd Greene - Angels

The Tony Gwynn is a single player card that is part of the short printed "Star Factor" portion of the set.  According to Baseballcardpedia, the Star Factors are box hits (seeded 1:24 packs)!

  1. Oh nice that Gwynn hit makes up for the Padres being useless in the Archives box. :p

  4. Oooh, that Holt is purdy. Does it get random’d between us since you have the Dodgers?
