Group Break: Topps Total is Terrific

Topps Total is probably the closet thing 2002 had to "old school" baseball packs.  With virtually no inserts (and zero hits of any type), this is a set that is (to paraphrase Meghan Trainor), all about that base.

2002 Topps Total:
Pack 3:
3.  Shawn Green - Dodgers
122.  Brad Nelson - Brewers
141.  Darren Dreifort - Dodgers
856.  Jon Garland - White Sox
53.  Alex Escobar - Indians
967.  Rod Beck - Red Sox
Award Winner:  AW 16.  Jeff Kent - Giants

179.  Clay Bellinger - Angels
210.  Carl Everett - Rangers
138.  Dewon Brazelton - Rays
2 of 6:  Checklist

Pack 4:
367.  Nelson Cruz - Astros
599.  Luis Castillo - Marlins
864.  Ben Petrick - Rockies
535.  Matt Morris - Cardinals
876.  John Lackey - Angels
166.  Mike Matheny - Cardinals

505.  Reggie Sanders - Giants
672.  Sterling Hitchcock - Yankees
490.  Paul Abbott - Mariners
661.  Mark McLemore - Mariners
5 of 30.  Red Sox Checklist

I recognize that it will take forever if I only am able to post two packs per post.  While this is a lot of typing, I have enough time to get at least one more pack in today!

Pack 5:
796.  Aaron Myette - Rangers
907.  A.J. Burnett - Marlins
564.  Corky Miller - Reds
442.  Shannon Stewart - Blue Jays
823.  Scotty Layfield - Cardinals
206.  Russ Ortiz - Giants
382.  Elvin Nina - Angels
342.  Carlos Beltran - Royals
32.  Kelly Wunsch - White Sox

893.  John Halama - Mariners
824.  Jeff Cirillo - Mariners
4 of 30.  Orioles Checklist

You can see on the Wunsch card that some of the cards have some sticking issues with other cards in the pack.  It's not on every card, but it's been on enough cards already that I've noticed it.  That's a bummer, but luckily the "value" in Topps Total is simply to track down all the cards of your team (or all 990 cards if you are true set collector sucker)!
