Delivery Time! The Annual Ginter Trade with Bubba's Bangin' Batch of Baseball Bits

It's time to show off a few of the highlights of my now annual big ol' Ginter trade with Matt over at Bubba's Bangin' Batch of Baseball Bits.  Each year, Matt opens a ton of Ginter - and while I don't generally open as much as he does, we usually can find a fair bit of stuff to send back and forth to help each other out.  It's actually become a fun tradition - and I think it's mutually beneficial for both of us as we each aim to collect Ginter and all of its madness!

As I said already, Matt sent me a nice pile of stuff but I won't scan it all seeing as how most people on the blogs have now seemingly moved on to the next "hot" set (Stadium Club or Heritage High Numbers I guess).  Well, I'm still stuck in the past so it's all Ginter, all the time here at Nachos Grande!

This year, Matt was able to help me with basically all of the full-sized sets that I was still working on including the base set for which he sent me the remaining short prints that I was missing.  I am still missing some non-short printed base cards (somehow) after all this time though, so if you have any spares lying around let me know.

Matt also helped me complete two of the full-sized insert sets including my favorite of the bunch:  the super colorful History of Flight cards.

That's the Supermarine S.6B - a racing seaplane that flew 340 mph back in 1931!

Another interesting set (though definitely less colorful) from this year's edition of Ginter is the Incredible Equipment set which is full of cards celebrating equipment from various literary characters (and other fictional characters).

Don Quixote's Lance is a fun inclusion in the set, though I have to be honest that I don't know much about the story of Quixote other than the fact that he fights a windmill for some reason.  When I was younger, I used to read a lot (including a lot of literary classics) but somehow I never read up on Don Quixote.

For the final card to scan, I have to show off this nice Baseball Star Signs insert of Joey Votto.

Matt didn't quite finish off my Baseball Star Signs insert set but he did help me get a lot closer to completing the thing.

For those that might be curious, here's what little remains on my want list for 2019 A&G:

As you can see, thanks to many traders such as Matt, I've nearly reached my goal of collecting all of this year's Ginter set.  That said, I still have a few more cards to track down so any help is appreciated.  I also have a whole lot of 2019 A&G available for trade - check here for that list.

Thanks, as always, Matt for another wonderful Ginter swap and good luck completing your set as well!

  1. A shame there's no windmill card to go with that lance card.
