TCDB Monday: It's a Monster, Folks!

Flashback Friday! 2010 Topps Update!

Happy Friday, everyone!  I'm back with another Flashback Friday pack to rip today, this time around it's a pack of 2010 Topps Update Series. The pack contains 12 cards (unless we get a relic card in which case we'll get either 9 or 10 cards instead).  I'm 99% certain this pack came from some sort of repack box so there's virtually no chance of a relic, right?!

Let's jump right in going though the cards in the order they appear in the pack.

110.  Curtis Granderson

It's no surprise that I'd start off a pack with a Yankee.  I seem to pull way too many Yankees as evidenced by my Gint-a-Cuffs scores more years!

36.  Omar Vizquel
199.  Jhonny Peralta
168.  Wilson Ramos (RC)

A nice looking rookie card of Ramos and my favorite base card from the pack (no Reds, of course...)

319.  Josh Tomlin (RC)
26.  Jesus Feliciano (RC)
61.  Alfredo Simon
17.  Marlon Byrd
218.  Kevin Gregg
Turkey Red:  110.  Shin-Soo Choo

I went after all of the Turkey Red inserts in 2010 for both Series 1 and Series 2 but I didn't both with the Update Series.  I think by the time Topps Update rolls around I'm almost always tired of the base card design and so I rarely have interest in the Update set (I also don't "rookie chase" so the main draw of Update isn't there for me).

Vintage Legends:  49.  Tris Speaker

Alright, I can admit that this one is pretty cool!  Sure, Topps has done the whole "vintage player on new designs" to death now but that doesn't mean that a lot of those cards aren't actually kind of nice.  This is easily my favorite card from the pack.

Topps Attax:  Joe Mauer

Overall, that was actually more fun than I thought it was going to be.  The Tris Speaker card was nice but really opening up a pack of cards that is nearly a decade old feels a lot more fresh now than it did back in 2010!

I don't plan on keeping any of these in my personal collection (even the Tris Speaker) so let me know if you want to trade for anything.
