The Griffin has Landed!

Last year, I designated 2021 the "Year of the Completed Set" and it was rousing success!  This year, I figured that I had picked off most of the easy sets to complete from my want list last year and so I didn't make any super crazy goals - the one thing I'm trying to do is keep the total number of sets on my want list under 60.

As much as I'd love to say that I was able to finish off another set today, I (unfortunately) cannot say that.  However, what I can say is that I inched a bit closer to completing a set that I've been working on for over a decade now:

That's a 2009 Allen & Ginter mini from the Creatures of Legend, Myth, and Terror set.  With the Griffin (finally) captured, I'm down to needing only two more cards from this set:
  • LMT5:  The Invisible Man
  • LMT15:  Chupacabra
Personally, I love the Creatures of Legend, Myth, and Terror set a lot - it speaks to a lot of things that I enjoy as many of the creatures in the set feature rather prominently in video games (and board games).

As it is, the 2009 Ginter set is actually counting as four different sets on my want list - and yet, each of the four sets is within one to three cards away from being completed (and off of my want list forever).

2009 Topps Allen & Ginter Wants
Inventions of the Future (minis): FI5
Creatures of Legend, Myth, &Terror (minis): 5, 15
Cabinet Boxloader: CB6, CB10
Regular back mini:  134, 159, 205

Will I actually be able to completely finish off any (or all) of those sets in the calendar year 2022?  I have no idea but I do think I'll continue to try and make progress whenever possible...unfortunately, I've learned through experience that trying to acquire random inserts from a set that's over a decade old can be tough!

  3. Must be a thing ~ I also need two of those to cap my set - Loch Ness & Cyclops. (And two of the N43s).
