Welcome back to the next post in my 30 MLB Teams in 30 Posts countdown (plus the contest - see the bottom of the post for details on that).
#15: Los Angeles Angels (Previous Rankings - 2019, 2020: #17, 19)
We've made it to the top half of my MLB team countdown! The two LA-branded teams straddle the midway point of the countdown with the last of the bottom half and the Angels the first of the top half. Kind of fitting, I suppose, to have both LA teams back-to-back.
The Angels are a rather intriguing team for me filled with stars (Trout, Ohtani) and often times, old Reds' retreads that I still kind of root for (Iglesias currently). The Angels are also another West Coast team so I don't get to see many of their games - and as an AL West Coast team, I see even fewer of their games than I do teams from the NL. In this case, I think it's perfectly reasonable for the Halos to end up smack dab in the middle of my rankings - no real reason to root against (or for) them for me.
My 2022 MLB Rankings (so far):
#30: St. Louis Cardinals
#29: New York Yankees
#28: Boston Red Sox
#27: Washington Nationals
#26: San Francisco Giants

San Diego Padres
ReplyDeleteDef. the Padres. I def. have a reason to root against them (and the Angels, too, due to a certain fan near me).
ReplyDeletePadres!
ReplyDeleteOk, they talked me into it. I'll take the Padres.
ReplyDeleteI don't particularly like the Angels, but I do want to see Trout get his day in the World Series or at least the ALCS, even though you can't have one without the other.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Padres.
The Angels are my 2nd favorite team (born in LA like me plus my kids were born in Anaheim). I was so happy for them when the won the World Series in 2002. I'll have to show off a picture I took of their WS trophy. For #14, I also will say the Padres.
ReplyDeletePadres. BTW, Jose Iglesias is not an Angel any more, he is a Rockie. Oh NM, you meant Raisel. Well Jose fits too.
ReplyDeleteGuess it's the Padres.
ReplyDeleteI guess this is going to get easier as there are less teams...so Padres it is.
ReplyDeletePadres it is, a clean sweep by all guessers!
