2021 Topps Heritage: High Numbers Blaster Break

Earlier this week, I held a group break for a box of 2002 Playoff Piece of the Game.  As a bonus for that break, I also threw in a blaster of 2021 Topps Heritage High Series.  I'll plan to show off the contents of the Playoff box later (perhaps as a more proper box review) but for today I figured there might be some interest in seeing what popped out of our Heritage blaster.

It's been a long, long time since I've bought a blaster for myself - and while I'm not keeping any of the cards in this particular blaster (besides the Reds which is the team I had in the break), it was still fun to rip a blaster!

According to the packaging, the blaster promises a total of 72 cards, spread across eight 9-card packs.  Seeing as how this is a Topps Heritage product, you probably already know what to get - plenty of retro-inspired base cards plus a few assorted inserts.  In that sense, our blaster delivered exactly as advertised!

The base set is perfectly fine, though this isn't my Topps design of all-time.  For my money, that Brent Rooker card was my favorite base card in the blaster - mostly because I love the sky in the background!

We did find a pair of short prints (seeded 1:3 packs).

No surprise that I'd pull a Dodger short print seeing as how I always seem to pull Dodger cards!  We didn't find any variations (as far as I know) but that's okay because we did pull a few nice inserts beginning with this 1:20  Clemente 3000 card:

That's certainly a nice pull for the Pirates slot in the break!

We also found another Dodger insert - this one being an Award Winner card (seeded 1:33 packs):

I told you I'm good at pulling Dodgers!

Finally, we'll end with my favorite card of the blaster - a Topps Heritage Chrome card of Stephen Strasburg.

The Chrome cards are numbered out of 999 - this one is 018/999.  The Chrome cards are seeded 1:39 packs!

Overall, I'd have to say we did quite well with our blaster!  With only 8 packs in the blaster, we found cards seeded 1:20, 1:33, and 1:39.  Can't ask for much more than that from retail stuff and I think the blaster definitely made a nice addition to my recent group break!

Speaking of group breaks, if you think you might be interested in future breaks (I'm currently taking sign-ups for a group break consisting of a box of 2000 Fleer Showcase) then check out my Group Break Facebook page here!

  1. I actually saw a blaster of this at Walgreen's the other day, If it were still $20 for a blaster I would have gotten it, but at $26 I gave it a miss.

  2. Oof. Way too many cards of guys posed holding heir junk like they're lined up to defend a free kick at a soccer game.
