TCDB Monday: It's a Monster, Folks!

The Non-Reds Frankenset: Cards #199 - 234 (Shiny Rookies, Bo Jackson, and a Dinosaur Mascot)

Today, I'm ready to start putting together the next four pages in my non-Reds Frankenset binder.

Cards 199 - 207:

Best card on the page:  Lots of rookies on the page (Moncada, Chamberlain, Bregman, and Witt) make it a tough choice but I think the Shiny 2022 Ginter parallel of Witt takes it for me.
Worst card on the page:  The missing spot needs the most work but of the cards present it's probably the Moncada as I don't particular care for the player or the card design.
#'s missing still:  91, 190, 191, 192, 193, 194, 195, 196, 196, 198, 199

Note:  I mentioned this in the previous Non-Reds Frankenset post but somehow I lost my stack of cards that I had set aside with numbers 190-199.  Hopefully that stack shows up someday but for now I've got ten empty spaces in a row in my binder!

Cards 208 - 216:

Best card on the page:  The Bo Jackson is great and I love the Dinger card as well.  However, the best card is easily the Joe Smith Bowman Heritage card with the Ferris wheel in the background!  Also, take a closer look at the lady with her dog on the Bogusevic card...another great shot!
Worst card on the page:  Probably the Bret Boone but honestly I like all of the cards on this page quite a bit.
#'s missing still:  91, 190, 191, 192, 193, 194, 195, 196, 196, 198, 199

Cards 217 - 225:

Best card on the page:  The top six cards on the page are all great, you pick your favorite I guess.
Worst card on the page:  The Scooter Gennett card only made the cut because Scooter had a four homer day once for the Reds (and it was a game that I happened to be watching live on TV at the time).  Super fun game and fun memory but not a super card!
#'s missing still:  91, 190, 191, 192, 193, 194, 195, 196, 196, 198, 199

Cards 226 - 234:

Best card on the page:  This is probably one of the weakest pages of the binder thus far.  There's a missing card (#227) and a bunch of other cards that aren't overly inspiring.  As for "best", I think the only option is the Stadium Club card of Chipper Jones.
Worst card on the page:  The Rafael Soriano card (and the Mark Buehrle) should be replaced down the line for sure.
#'s missing still:  91, 190, 191, 192, 193, 194, 195, 196, 196, 198, 199, 227

That's the next four pages for my binder!  It's not terrible surprising to me to see some blank spots start to pop up.  As we get further out from #1 numerically, there are fewer and fewer sets from which to draw potential Frankenset cards!  Pickings will probably get even slimmer once we get up into the 500s and above.

  1. That lady with her dog is great. I'm surprised that I haven't seen that card on the blogs before.
