The Non-Reds Frankenset: Cards #235 - 270

I'm back and ready to continue on building my non-Reds Frankenset.  We are now firmly in the midst of the 200s so set options are slowly becoming slimmer and slimmer.  Still, I hope for a nice variety through the first 300 cards in the set at least!

Cards 235 - 243:

Best card on the page:  The Kershaw rookie is the best card on the page though I do love the Brian Jordan card where he's signing autographs as well as the Huston Street Gatorade bath!
Worst card on the page:  Brett Butler or else Johnny Damon, either (or both) cards should be replaced down the line!
#'s missing still:  91, 190, 191, 192, 193, 194, 195, 196, 196, 198, 199, 227

Cards 244 - 252:

Best card on the page:  More "old school" cards on this page than usual but my favorite might be that Just minor league card of Barry Zito!
Worst card on the page:  Probably the Anthony Rendon though I'd like to replace at least one of the two Topps Attax cards since I like set variety on each page whenever possible.
#'s missing still:  91, 190, 191, 192, 193, 194, 195, 196, 196, 198, 199, 227

Cards 253 - 261:

Best card on the page:  By and large, I tried to avoid adding any cards from before 1985 to the Frankenset (for now) butt hat Chuck Tanner snuck in and is probably the best on the page.  Kind of interesting that the Pirates landed three consecutive cards on the page.
Worst card on the page:  I think the Billy Hatcher could be swapped for something better, the same with the Matt Holliday card.
#'s missing still:  91, 190, 191, 192, 193, 194, 195, 196, 196, 198, 199, 227

Cards 262 - 270:

Best card on the page:  It's such a simple photo but I love the Edgar Martinez Stadium Club card a lot.
Worst card on the page:  There aren't any truly terrible cards on the page but there also aren't any super great cards here.  The Jason Bay card is probably the "worst" but that card is still perfectly fine.
#'s missing still:  91, 190, 191, 193, 194, 195, 196, 196, 198, 199, 227

And with that, we are nearing card #300 - hopefully in my next non-Reds Frankenset post, whenever I get around to doing another one of these.  As usual, I love hearing what you all think about my choices!

Comments

  1. Love that Juan Lagares.

Did a double take wondering when the heck Brett Butler played for the A's. That's Billy Butler.

  2. Wowza. Nice Kershaw! Is his rookie card the most expensive card in this Frankenset?

  3. The Tanner is a nice addition, and that Edgar Martinez might be the best of the bunch.
