My First Foray into Topps Living Set

Today's acquisition is entirely courtesy of a heads up from PeachPits over on my Discord (and if you haven't joined my baseball card Discord, please do so now)!  Anyhow, PeachPits sent me a message on Discord letting me know that Barry Larkin had just hit Topps' Living Set.  Obviously, I had to check that out and next thing you know, I'm the proud owner of yet another Barry Larkin card!

I should point out that I vaguely remembering hearing about Topps' Living Set a few years ago but I'd be lying if I said I knew it was still in production today.  Thus, getting that Discord message was great since I was able to get the Larkin card for "retail" price!

Without further ado, here's the card:

Illustrated by Jared Kelly, this particular card ended up having a print run of 1,930 copies (according to TCDB).  The card arrived from Topps inside the rather nice Living Set box - with plenty of packaging to keep it nice and safe.  I don't think I'll probably chase any of the other cards from the set but I do have to admit that I like this Larkin card quite a bit (especially the Reds' running man logo on the card front).

Many thanks to PeachPits and all of the other fine folks over on the Discord.  Lots of fun happening there...and sometimes you even learn about card releases involving your favorite player (so join in the fun)!

  1. I absolutely love the Living Set, and, as a Michigan fan, I got my Larkin card as well...it's in the binder right next to fellow Wolverine Jake Cronenworth. Go Blue!
