Board Game Friday: My June 2024 BGG Math Trade Haul!

June was the first month in quite some time in which I was able to both take part in the Boardgamegeek math trade and end up having at least one match.  As luck would have it, I ended up with two matches for this month's board game trade.

Outgoing (2 games):

Burgle Bros. and Gentes

Burgle Bros. was a game I had traded for awhile back.  It is a cooperative game where you work together to steal some loot and escape the high rise building.  I found my couple of plays of the game to be quite fun but I didn't think the game had all that much staying power and thus I added it to my "for trade" list.

Gentes, on the other hand, was a game that I backed on Kickstarter.  I did play the game a couple of times a couple of years ago but since then the game has simply sat on my shelf.  On the rare instances where I might have had the right group to play the game, there were so many other better options available that I always skipped over Gentes.  It's a perfectly fine game (with great production, at least from the Kickstarter edition) but it was simply a game that wasn't likely to find its way to my gaming table anytime soon.

Incoming (1 game and cash):

I ended up bringing in $20 plus the game Tapestry.

Tapestry is a civilization-esque (?) game that I've wanted to try for quite some time.  The game runs a bit long for my taste, but I do hope I can get it to the table sometime soon!  If nothing else, the components of the game look intriguing when I opened up the box lid.

That does it for board game trading for June.  I'll probably continue to try and trade board games for the next couple of summer months, however, I don't know if my "trade bait" will be enough to get something I want in return!  I guess that's the fun of a math trade, you never quite know what will happen.
