Highlights from a Box of 2024 Topps Update!

On Tuesday of this week, I hosted a group break on my Discord for a pair of hobby boxes of 2024 Topps Update.  Each hobby box promises a single hit and while our first box was fine (an Oneil Cruz relic), it was the second box of the evening that definitely stole the show!

The box began with a bang with this Gold parallel Autumn Tales card of Joe Carter #/75.

According to Topps' website, these are seeded 1:2,635 packs!

A little later in the break, we pulled an Independence parallel of Jackson Chourio, this one numbered out of 76 copies.

Once again returning to the insertion odds page, Topps claims that the Independence parallels are seeded 1:372 packs.  The fact that we got Jackson Chourio, one of the chase rookies in the set, is that much sweeter!

Finally, the cherry on top of the entire box was our hit:

That's a 1989 Topps Relic card of the Red parallel variety.  It's got a GORGEOUS patch and it happens to be numbered out of 25.  According to Topps' website, the Red 1989 relics are seeded 1:6,753 packs and we happened to pull one of the other chase rookies in the set!

All things considered, this was an amazing hobby box and certainly a lot of fun to open for a group break. If you'd like to watch me crack both boxes (maybe count along to see how many Paul Skenes card we pull?), you can do so here:

If you haven't checked out my Discord channel, I would like to invite you to join!  In addition to group breaks, I also give away a ton of free cards on a regular basis and we've got plenty of other channels full of fun discussions about baseball, baseball cards, and even non-baseball stuff.
