Box #6 from my case of 2024 Allen & Ginter began with a great box topper for yours truly:
That's the largest (in size) Elly De La Cruz rookie card that I'll probably ever own! I do wish that Topps didn't mark inserts/box toppers, etc. as "rookie cards" but at this point, there's probably no value in complaining about much of what Topps does. Instead, I'll simply be happy with my giant Elly.
Moving on to the packs proper, box #6 produced five mini inserts plus a nice Ronald Acuna, Jr. Chrome mini.
I've been toying with the idea of collecting the full Chrome mini set - it's "only" 100 cards...though that does mean I need to collect 100 boxes worth of cards since the Chrome minis are seeded one per box. It might be a stupid idea, but I've probably had dumber ideas in the past (heck, I'm still working on both the 2010 and the 2020 framed relic sets)!
Today, I'll skip scanning the full-sized Chrome cards (another set that I'm considering trying to collect). Nothing much there, nor were either of my two black bordered minis really worth taking the time to scan (Pettitte and Winn). Instead, let's jump right to the main prize of the box:
That's a Red Ink Framed Autograph of Yankees' (and Reds') legend Paul O'Neil. If this were a Reds card, it'd definitely be a keeper for me, but alas, it's a Yankees card so off to eBay it goes with the hopes that I can sell it for a decent return to soften the financial blow of buying a full case of cards! My other two hits in the box were your more common full-sized relics though at least one was a non-baseball guy who I have actually heard of prior to ripping this box!
All in all, a Red Ink auto will make any box a pretty darn good box. No complaints from me here as we move into the second half of my case!
