Box #7 from my Case of 2024 Topps Allen & Ginter (The One with Four Hits!)

It's time to dig into the second half of my case of 2024 Allen & Ginter and, as usual, we'll begin with the box topper:

That's another baseball player - and another oversized rookie card (I don't recall Topps putting the Rookie Card logo on oversized cards and inserts in the past).  I kind of think the true "rookie card" ought to be a non-short printed base card only but no one asks me for my opinion on these things.

Moving on to the highlights from the packs, let's start with our full-sized parallels:

Yeah, I was surprised to see two of the Foil Filagree cards as well!  Other than the Barry Larkin card, I won't be chasing the Foil Filagree parallels.  However, I am toying with collecting the full Chrome parallel set (as well as the full Chrome mini set).  I'd also love to do the Refractor set (maybe instead of the full-sized Chrome) but I'm not sure I'll be able to swing that given that the Refractors are seeded one-per-box.

Moving to the minis, box #7 also produced three black bordered minis which was a surprise (Correra, Lee, and a Tim Raines SP).  However, I chose to scan a pair of regular back minis instead:

Yep, Barry Larkin (my first 2024 Ginter mini of his) plus Jeff Probst.  My wife and I both enjoy watching Survivor so I was happy to see Probst on this year's checklist.  I would like to acquire his autograph card if possible!  The Tena is the Chrome mini...I'm up to seven out of the 100 in the set now.

Switching our attention to the mini inserts, Box #7 didn't disappoint here either:

Two Swamp Creatures, a card prominently featuring potatoes (Idaho), a flag, and a big ol' mountain made for a solid haul of mini inserts.  I'm going to try and build all of the above mini sets so this is a nice bunch of small steps forward toward that particular goal.

Finally, the three (?) promised hits:

That's right, in a super surprising twist, this box produced an extra hit!  In previous years, I've had a few boxes that were missing a hit but I don't recall having a box with four hits in it in quite some time!  Even better for me, two of the four hits were of the framed variety (a lovely red bit of cloth on the Jim Thome relic plus a rookie autograph of Grae Kessinger of the Astros).

And that does it for box #7.  This one had a bunch of extra stuff as compared to a usual box (extra hit, extra black bordered mini, extra filagree parallel, etc.)  It also held a Barry Larkin mini for me.  Given that, I've got to say this one is another successful box out of the case!
