TCDB Monday: No Completed Trades this Week but I have Stats!

As the post title says, I didn't complete any TCDB trades this week.  The one trade that did come in had the wrong card included, so for now, that one stays in my "unresolved" pile of mail.  Hopefully, by this time next week, I will be able to show off that trade.  Instead, since I have no trades to show, it's a great time to catch up on my TCDB trading stats!

Looking at my stats, you can see that I make a strong effort to send out way more cards than I receive back.  This is for two main reasons:
  1. When I propose a trade, I make sure that the trade is either exactly 50/50 balanced or tilted in the other person's favor (I often do that by including extra base cards from their want list).
  2. For as much stuff as I collect, storage space is quickly becoming a serious issue so the more unwanted/unneeded stuff I can get out of my house, the better!
Overall, I've sent out 2,095 more cards than I've received (officially, though sometimes either I or my trade partner does throw in some free extras that aren't included in the above counts).  In addition to TCDB, I've also been giving away cards almost daily over on my Discord - another great reason to join if you haven't already (who doesn't love free cards)?!

That does it for this week's TCDB recap.  I can happily report that I have at least two other trades that should be in the mail headed to me as you read this so I'm confident that next Monday I'll have some actual cards to show off!  I also expect a bit more trading action moving forward because I recently added the 1998 Collector's Choice cards that I am missing to my TCDB want list as well as some of the insert cards from that set.  By and large, that set is a dime a dozen so I'm expecting to be flooded with trade offers of people looking to unload some of their base cards!

  1. Wow. I'm so impressed at how many trades you completed last year... and over the years in general. I'm looking forward to the day that I can upload my collection, my wants, and my tradebait onto TCDB. It won't be until retirement and by then who knows what postage and our hobby will look like.

    1. I think I would have given up on blogging YEARS ago if it weren't for trading and now with TCDB trading is so much easier!
