Last week was the first week of the new semester of teaching for me, so it's no real surprise that my TCDB trade time has all but evaporated. Luckily, I did manage to eke out a couple of small swaps so let's get right to it!
First up, user SMSiegell sent me a single A&G insert that I needed in exchange for a bunch of base cards.
I LOVE it when I can swing a trade like this! I have a lot of unwanted base cards taking up space so I was happy to ship nine of them off for a single needed insert of Georgia. Anytime I can make space for my ever-growing baseball card collection, I'm happy!
Next, from user pinfit comes another trade that netted me some needed A&G mini cards, this time two of them!
Deciding to chase after both the Chrome minis and the Chrome Refractors from the 2024 A&G set might have been a mistake. I feel like I've been doing trade after trade where I acquire those cards and yet my want list still feels massive! I'm no quitter though so I'll keep trying to plug away until it becomes clear I'm out of luck! For now, I still have some luck in trading in that there are small swaps out there to be made such as this one which netted me another Chrome mini plus a Got the Itch mini of the Rose.
Finally, we end this week on TCDB with a trade with user SirNailhead:
This particular trade was actually two trades in one. The first swap landed me a bunch of 1997 Fleer Metal base cards, some of which I scanned for you in the above photo. The second trade came after we agreed to the first one (but before anyone shipped). SirNailhead requested a specific Heritage insert that I had. In return, he offered to send me a different insert from that same set (so in effect, I wasn't gaining or losing anything but he was able to make more progress on his set build). I agreed (and he threw in an extra Ernie Banks card for my trouble):
The Heritage Banks going right onto my trade bait list on TCDB while the other Banks will probably be given away over on my Discord at some point. That's right, I do plenty of card giveaways on Discord (so join here if you haven't already)! In the end, I was happy to make progress on Metal set build and also happy to help out another fellow collector in their set build goals!
That does it for the past week on TCDB. I did have one more trade envelope come in but that one had the wrong card in it so I'm hoping I'll have the correct card to show off next week!
