Today, I've got another nice lot of 2025 Topps Silver Pack Chrome cards to show off. I learned my lesson from last year in terms of trying to collect the 100-card Silver Pack Chrome set. Last year, I started off trying to trade for everything and then only used eBay when I got down to the last few cards. This year, I'm using eBay early to score large lots of cards and then, if I get any duplicates, I figure those are going to be easier to trade now for other cards I need as opposed to later this year. Who knows if this new technique will result in a faster (or more affordable) set completion, but it's an experiment worth trying!
With that in mind, I recently bought this 12-card lot of Chrome cards, all of which I still needed for my personal set build (which is amazing)! The main highlight of the lot for me has to be the Elly De La Cruz card, I doubted Elly last year but he changed my mind partway through the season. I'm hoping for big things out of him this year, Lord knows the Reds need someone who can hit the baseball and get on base.
The remaining cards in the lot were quite nice as well. My favorites include Ichiro, Ripken, and Christian Yelich in his powder blue uniform. As for the remaining cards, well, I'll let you pick your favorite. If I had to vote, I think the next two best cards are the two Yankees (Judge and Soto). I like Soto's bat flip and Judge's celebration, even if neither of those photos looks particularly at home on the 1990 Topps design.
Honestly, all of the 35th Anniversary 1990 Topps Chrome cards look amazing. The colors pop so vibrantly and I'm excited to continue making solid progress on my set build. The entire thing will look amazing in my binder once the set is complete! I am now up to 24 out of the 100 cards in the set, nearly one-quarter complete.
