My set build of this year's 1990 Topps 35th Anniversary Chrome set is coming along nicely. I've been actively trading for needed cards on TCDB as well as using eBay to pick up larger lots. Today, I've got the results of a recent eBay purchase to show off - and a lesson to go with it.
Let's start with the lesson...always mark off cards you have coming in trades/purchases. If you don't do that consistently, then you'll probably end up doing what I did in which I bought a 12-card lot of Chrome cards and yet somehow only ended up needing three of them:
On the bright side, the set is still new enough that the 9 duplicates that I bought should be useful as trade bait to (hopefully) turn into needed cards down the line.
I did end up with some good players as duplicates, so hopefully, this particular purchase will continue to pay dividends down the line. And, if nothing else, maybe I learned a lesson about keeping better track of incoming cards!
