It's Another (TCDB) Monday!

Loyal blog readers may have noticed a declined output from yours truly over the last week or so.  Unfortunately, I expect that trend to continue for most of April.  April is the busiest month of the year for me.  At work, the semester wraps up in April, which means there are tons of extra events that I must attend (honor society induction ceremonies, end-of-year obligations, etc.).  In addition, I'm coaching my son's baseball team (we have moved up from t-ball to coach pitch this year), which will eat into even more of my time!  That all said, I wouldn't change it for the world as I love getting out on the diamond coaching (okay, I would change the amount of work-related meetings that I have to attend if I could but not the baseball stuff)!

With all of that said, I did manage to complete a couple more trades on TCDB last week, so let's take a look at some actual cards!

We'll begin with a trade with user Cubs99:

I am continuing to try and pick off needed base cards from the 1997 Metal Universe set whenever possible.  I do prefer to trade for a larger amount at once (to make postage more worthwhile), so you can imagine my happiness when I discovered that Cubs99 had 11 cards that I needed for my set (out of the 22 cards that were remaining on my want list)!  That's right, with a single trade, I was able to cut my want list directly in half from 22 down to only 11.  There's hope yet that I'll finish this set off before 2025 is done!

As good as the first trade of the week was, I think my second trade was even better!  This one was with user schwefumbler:

Three more needed 1990 Chrome cards, but the real highlight for me was the Crab Mac & Cheese card since that finished off that particular mini insert set for me.  I was also able to make some solid progress on two more of the mini insert sets from 2024 A&G.  It won't be long until those sets are complete as well if I can keep up this momentum!

In the end, I'd say that last week was a rousing success despite the relatively small number of completed trades.  I do imagine that trading will take more of a back seat over the next month or so, however, I'll try to keep checking in on the blog (and TCDB) whenever possible.  Once April is done, you'll probably see a much more consistent output here again!

  1. Hope April flies by for you. Personally I want the first two weeks of the months to come and go quickly... then slow down the third week. That's when my Spring Break kicks in. Then summer is just around the corner and another school year will be in the books.

    1. Our spring break is always early March (when it's most definitely still winter 99% of the time)! Good luck finishing off the year!
