TCDB Monday: Shiny Chrome, Shiny Dragons, and Some Non-Shiny Too!

We've made it through February and I, for one, cannot be more excited about that.  I'm also excited anytime I get baseball cards in the mail.  Since today is my weekly TCDB wrap-up, there's all sorts of excitement happening!

Let's jump right in with a trade package from user CraigB56:

That's one of the last Pokemon cards that I needed for my McDonald's set build.  I probably bought more Happy Meals than I should have attempting to complete the set but once I learned that the cards were listed on TCDB I no longer felt the need to keep eating chicken nuggets!  This card goes into my collection since my son already has it (we are both trying to build the full 15-card set)!  With the Dragonite now in hand, I'm only missing #11: Roaring Moon for my set build!

Next, we'll turn to baseball cards beginning with a single card PWE from user baseballbear:

That's a 2025 Topps 1990 35th Anniversary card of Barry Larkin, a different set than the 1990 35th Anniversary Chrome set (which is the set I'm attempting to collect).  The above card even has a different card number and photograph, so the two different 1990 Topps design sets aren't actually parallels of one another.

Moving along, my next package is from user Drdirt:

That's a Chrome mini from last year's Allen & Ginter set.  It's one of many 2024 Allen & Ginter sets that I'm still (slowly) plugging away at!

Next, we move to a larger box that arrived from user Star3K:

This swap netted me a bunch of the Chrome 1990 Topps cards including Barry Larkin!  There were several more in the package but I only scanned my favorite six cards.  With this batch of cards in hand, I'm now the happy owner of 37 of the 100 Chrome cards from Series 1.

Finally, we end with a trade with user jc645:

Yep, another A&G Chrome mini (and the second Cubs mini of the week) plus a Chrome Refractor of Wyatt Langford.  In addition to the agreed-upon cards, jc645 also threw in some bonus Reds cards which was much appreciated (and jc645 is an active member of my baseball Discord)!

Overall, it was a solid week of trading for sure!  I don't think next week will be nearly as good, mostly because I was so busy with work and things last week that I didn't do much on the trading front...and thus, I don't expect many card packages in the mail this week!
