TCDB Monday: The Shiny!

Board Game Friday: March 2025 Board Game Arena Plays

We have officially made it another month closer to summer break (at least for those of us who teach).  March and April are always hectic for me, but I still managed to carve out some time for (virtual) board game playing over on Board Game Arena, aka BGA.

Given how busy March was, I was surprised to learn that I managed to play 66 games in March (up from 43 games in February).  Granted, many of the games I played were on the shorter side in terms of length, but still, 66 games is nothing to sneeze at!  Overall, I won 25 of the games, which is good for a 37.8% winning percentage.

Here's what I got to the virtual table last month:

As you can see, it's a lot of the "usual suspects" when it comes to my online board game playing.  Lost Ruins of Arnak continues to be a favorite of mine, though I tend to do a lot better at 7 Wonders Duel!

I only tried one new game this month, and that was Fromage.

Fromage is a game all about French cheese.  It has a neat gimmick where the board turns as if it is on a lazy Susan.  There are four quadrants on the board, and each quadrant is its own minigame.  The other trick is that you can make one of three levels of cheese (gold, silver, or bronze), but the better cheeses will keep your workers occupied for longer times (i.e. turns of the board).  Fromage is a game that I first bought (and played) in person and then decided to give the online implementation a try.  It's great online and in person. I  highly recommend this one!

That does it for the month of March.  April has been extremely hectic thus far (hence the lack of posts here at Nachos Grande) but things should be calming down very soon as my semester wraps up in a couple of weeks.  Once finals are done (and graded), I fully expect to return to daily blogging - and even more virtual board game playing!
