I didn't complete any trades on TCDB this past week, so no weekly trade wrap-up to report. Instead, I'd like to use Monday's post to advertise my brand new Patreon.
That's right, I've joined Patreon. As you may know, I enjoy hosting group breaks. However, I don't enjoy all of the time it takes to collect and process payments, make sure everything is listed correctly, etc. I also do the group breaks for fun, not for a job. With that in mind, I decided to give Patreon a try in an effort to streamline the payment portion of hosting group breaks.
My plan for my Patreon is to use it for the "Group Break of the Month." My idea is that I'll rip (at least) one box every single month, with the contents of the box going to those who join the Patreon. I created 29 different tiers, one for each of the MLB teams (other than the Reds). In addition to the monthly box breaks, I have a special section on my Discord for Patreons where I'll be running regular card giveaways (and hopefully more perks will be added over time as I get used to the new concept)!
All Patrons for the month of May will be receiving the cards of their team from a box of 2025 Donruss (hobby). As time goes on and as the Patreon fills up, I hope to include more than one box with some of the group breaks. Future boxes will include as many new releases as I can, plus the occasional older release of an interesting product (similar to what I used to do with my Breaker's Club group breaks).
Here's what the tiers look like:
As you can see, once a team is claimed, all cards of that team for group breaks from that month will go to the person who claimed that particular slot. That said, as of the time of this post, I have plenty of team tiers remaining to be claimed in the Patreon. I should also note that if someone wanted to claim more than one team, I can make a combined tier (Patreon only allows a person to select a single tier, reach out to me if that's something that you are interested in doing).
