Happy Monday, everyone. As usual, Monday's mean it is time for a TCDB wrap-up post for the previous week. Unfortunately, I only completed one trade last week. However, I'll always keep in mind that one trade is better than no trades!
My lone trade of the week comes courtesy of user Bigz62554:
I was able to land a few more needed 1998 UD Collector's Choice cards, including a pair of Braves' stars and some assorted rookies. While some people reading this might wonder why I'm wanting to collect the full Collector's Choice set, I would encourage you to look at the back of a couple of the cards from my trade with Bigz62554:
You don't fun images like Mariano Rivera on a boat in most sets! The Collector's Choice brand typically had Stadium Club worthy images on both the card fronts (and more often, the card backs)! I highly recommend the set to anyone looking for a fun, interesting set on a budget!
In addition, I was also able to add a new-to-me Barry Larkin card:
That's a 2022 Topps 206 card of Barry, a set that was (I believe) an online-exclusive set. I'll definitely have to do some more research into the set before I feature the card in my ongoing Barry Larkin Collection series of posts!
That's it for the past week over on TCDB. My want list is no longer all that large, so it's no surprise that trading has slowed down (after all, the smaller your want list, the more tricky it can be to find trade matches)! Even so, if I can keep doing at least one trade a week moving forward, then I'll be a happy guy!
Those card back photos of Maddux and Rivera are awesome! It'd be fun to sit down with a stack of those cards and read the "Did you know" pieces of trivia.
