I'm back again with the contents of another box of 2025 Topps Allen & Ginter. There was a time when I bought a case of Ginter, but with the rising costs associated with cards, I no longer do that. I did, however, order several boxes, and now I'm ready to show off the highlights from box #5.
Box 5:
Minis:
As usual with me, let's start with the minis. While I generally gravitate toward the mini inserts, I'd be remiss if I didn't begin today's post with this gorgeous Orange Chrome mini of Chipper Jones, #09/25:
Those Orange Chrome minis are sharp looking! Part of me is kind of sad that Barry Larkin isn't in this year's abbreviated Chrome parallel set, especially when you look at how nice some of the Chrome parallels look!
I'm also pleased with Box 5 in terms of the mini inserts. Unlike the previous box, this time I got 5 inserts that were all different!
I'm glad to have pulled the Nick Kurtz mini only because I imagine attempting to trade for that one will prove difficult. The Marlin card is probably my favorite of the bunch, after all, I'm such a sucker for fish cards!
Full-Sized:
I pulled a Chrome Refractor of Lesley Arfin.
I have no idea who Lesley Arfin is, but according to the back of the card, she wrote for the HBO series Girls (which I never saw), and later moved to Brooklyn 99 (which I have seen and generally enjoy).
Hits:
Each box of Ginter promises only two hits this year, and up until now, I had been pulling an auto and a relic out of each box. This is my first box that didn't produce an autograph, but even so, I can't be mad since I pulled a super rare full-sized Byron Buxton relic #/10!
This is a thick relic card, though you can't really tell from the scan. This is the very rare Brooklyn Back version of the base relic set!
My other relic was of the framed variety - and it's a guy who should be one of my favorites based entirely on his name: Nacho Alvarez, Jr.
All told, this was a solid box - and I'm still having fun ripping my boxes of A&G (and that's the most important part of all of this)!

Interesting relic on buxton
