In previous years, I've sometimes opened up an entire case of Allen & Ginter and not received a single Mini Framed Red Ink Auto. This year, I bought eight hobby boxes (due to rising costs) and I've already hit one (a beautiful Reggie Jackson). As you know from today's post title, Box #7 is packed with my second Mini Framed Red Ink Auto from this year's set!
We'll get to the auto in a moment, but first let's take a look at the other goodies that were lurking in box #7.
Box 7:
Minis:
Starting with the mini inserts, I landed another four (as opposed to the usual five mini inserts that we've found in the other boxes). I'm thinking the fifth "special" mini ended up going to my first "no number" mini of the break:
Yep, a Cardinals rookie no number mini. Woo. << sarcasm >>
Full Size:
This box proved another first for me this year in the form of an X-Fractor Chrome parallel:
That's Mark Long, the "godfather of reality TV," according to the back of this card. I guess Mark has been appearing in various reality TV shows for 30 years, an impressive way to make a living if nothing else (and it netted him his own A&G card, so he's doing better than I am)!
I also pulled another surprise from the box:
That's an Orange Filigree of Tyler O'Neil, numbered 23/25!
The Hits:
I know you are waiting to see the Red Ink, but would you believe that this box actually produced two different autographs? It's true, and the first is this Samuel Aldegheri framed mini autograph:
I don't know much of anything about the Angels' rookie, but a framed auto is a framed auto!
And now, drum roll please...
Yeah, a Buster Posey Red Ink autograph, #1/10!
I don't even know what to say; this year's edition of A&G has been very, very good to me! It's been a blast ripping these boxes, I'm sad that I only have one left...but man, no matter how good (or bad) that final box is, this was a great year of A&G!
