Back in 2023, I splurged (by my standards) and bought myself an Ancient Rome relic card from the 2016 Topps Allen & Ginter set. At the time, I simply wanted one of the cards for my collection (and I had no plans to try to build the entire 24-card relic set). However, I also decided to throw the set on my eBay alerts list in the off chance that a card might show up down the line for cheap.
The back of the card explains that the embedded coin is an actual vintage Roman coin, though there's no information as to where the coin was originally found. I love Greek and Roman history, so this card and coin combination is right up my alley of interests!
Well, a couple of years later, a new Ancient Rome relic card did show up for cheap, and I was able to nab it!
That's the Pont du Gard Aqueduct, and it's awesome! I've never been to the actual site of this particular aqueduct, but I have seen other Roman aqueduct ruins closer to Rome itself. The Pont du Gard Aqueduct is located in France, and from what I can tell, it's now a major tourist site.

I'm now the proud owner of two of the 24 relics in the set. That being said, I still maintain I am not actively attempting to build the set (though you can rest assured that my eBay alert is still active)!

Sweet card. Kudos to Topps for producing such a cool piece of history. Hope a few more of these relics pop up at affordable prices for you.
