Christmas 2025 will go down as the Christmas in which I received the most Barry Larkin singles, ever. Now granted, I don't usually get any baseball card singles, but this past Christmas I ended up landing four new-to-me Barry Larkin cards. Okay, okay, three new-to-me cards plus a graded card that I didn't own in graded form.
Let's start with the graded card, which was a gift from my dad:
That's a 1987 Topps Gem Mint Barry Larkin rookie card. I own a bunch of copies of this particular Larkin rookie card, but this is my first graded 1987 Topps card! It was super sweet of my dad to give me this, and it was extra special since I still remember the very first baseball card he ever gave me (the Reds Leaders card from this very set)!
My other three Barry Larkin singles all came courtesy of my brother. He found two 2025 Donruss Milestones cards that I needed:
The Green Laser parallel is neat looking, even if green isn't generally the best color parallel for the Cincinnati Reds! There are still several more parallels from this particular set that I'll try to track down eventually, but for now I'm certainly happy with my gifts!
Finally, the big Christmas prize from my brother:
That's a 2025 Topps Tribute Pillars of the Game autographed card. This particular one is the base version, which is serially numbered out of 199 copies. I love Barry's clean signature, and this particular card is an instant treasure for my collection as I don't own all that many Larkin autographs!
Many, many thanks to both my dad and my brother for the Christmas Barry Larkin gifts!

Nice Larkins! I've never been one for graded cards, but seeing a 1987 Topps card graded does make me happy!
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome. At first I thought the Topps Tribute Pillars card was a Panini Select design.
ReplyDeleteCool cards. Went to a local show in December and picked up a few Larkins from a guy that had 20 cards for $5.
ReplyDeleteGood Job!
Great gifts! He does have a nice signature. Cool cards.
ReplyDeleteWhoa. Awesome cards. But the fact that they're gifts from your dad and brother make them truly priceless.
