Board Game Friday: My Board Game Arena Plays for February, March, and April 2026!

Much like with my in-person board game plays, I've fallen three months behind in recapping my online plays!  It's time to get caught up, so let's jump right in beginning with my February plays over on Board Game Arena.

February 2026:

Despite being a short month, I ended up with a lot of online plays in February (117 total plays)!  Of those 117 games played, I won 61, which is a 52.1% winning percentage.  The bulk of my games were Azul and Forest Shuffle, both of which are on the lighter side of games.  I did manage to complete seven games of Ark Nova, though unfortunately I'm still quite bad at that game!

March 2026:

The month of March saw me play a TON of Forest Shuffle.  In fact, 58 of my 128 games in March were Forest Shuffle (I joined in several tournaments)!  Overall, I won 64 of the 128 games I played in the month, good for a win rate of exactly 50%.

April 2026:

April was another month where Forest Shuffle was in heavy rotation.  Unfortunately, my win rate wasn't nearly as good in April.  Of the 104 total games played, I only won 48 (a 46.1% win rate).  Some of my losses can be attributed to my learning Tapestry, but overall, I think I'd say the pendulum was simply swinging back the other way in terms of my overall win rate!

In the months of February through April, the only new-to-me game that I learned was Tapestry.  I decided to try to learn the game via playing it online versus opening up my physical copy and reading the rulebook.  In hindsight, that was a dumb idea because the Tapestry rulebook is only 4 pages long!  No matter, I did end up learning the game (and while I'm still not great at it, it is a super fun game to play).  I've also played it in person a couple of times, and I'm pleased to report it works just as well on a physical table as it does on a virtual table.

And with that, I'm now caught up on recapping my board game plays!  ...at least until we turn the calendar to June.
