Junior Junkie Jettisons Jewels!

My Barry Larkin Collection currently stands at 170 cards - at least in terms of those that I've blogged.  Since I have a problem with organization (meaning everything has to be organized just so), I don't bother actually keeping a running tally of my Larkin cards except for when I scan them for use in my ongoing series.  As such, I don't have a good handle on how many different Barry Larkin cards that I actually own - but I do know it's a lot more than 170.

What does this have to do with my post title?

Well, T.J. from The Junior Junkie recently claimed one of my trade stacks in exchange for a bunch of Barry Larkin cards.  You can see his end of the trade on his blog here.  What did I get?  Well, you guessed it...  Lots 'o Larkins!

T.J. actually sent me six different Larkin cards - five of which haven't been featured on as part of my Larkin Collection series (which is appreciated).  The only repeat?  A 1992 Score card (there's certainly worse duplicates to own)!

Out of the remaining five Barry Larkin cards, I know that some are duplicates - but since they haven't made their way to my collection posts, I can't hold that against T.J.  Of the ones that I know I own already, I think my favorite two are this Collector's Choice card...

...because I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the Collector's Choice line.  Well, that and the fact that it's a nice photo from a rather unique angle.

My other favorite "double" is probably this 1988 Leaf card.  For whatever reason, I like both the '88 Donruss set and the '91 Donruss set - both have similar blue borders (at least Series 1 in the 1991 set).

T.J. also sent me a couple of cards that I think might be new to my collection - including this gorgeous Upper Deck Vintage card.

I don't usually go for black bordered sets but when I do I like them to be as gorgeous as this set.

Finally, we end with a fun Larkin:

Bazooka for the win!

Thanks for the trade T.J.  And, as always, if anyone else would like to trade - check out my want list and make an offer!

Now I have to get back to scanning and writing up more Larkin cards!
