Box Breaker: 2005 UD Past Time Pennants (Packs 4 - 6)

Welcome back to another post detailing packs out of my 2005 Upper Deck Past Time Pennants box.  I've already discovered my pennant plus one of the two promised autographs (check my archives if you missed either).  Now let's turn out attention to the next trio of packs.

Pack 4:

14.  Carl Yastrzemski
20.  Don Mattingly
46.  Johnny Bench

58.  Monte Irvin
88.  Willie McCovey

Another Yankee, plus a pair of Giants but the real prize is the first Cincinnati Red of the break (that being Johnny Bench of course).  This is a great looking card - Bench seems to be daring someone to run on him.

Pack 5:

11.  Bruce Sutter

13.  Cal Ripken Jr.
19.  Don Larsen
30.  Frank Robinson

77.  Sparky Lyle

The Yankee love continues with another pair of pinstripes, but once again they get trumped by a Cincinnati Red. This time, it's Frank Robinson taking the honors of "best in pack."  Bruce Sutter also deserves a scan - mostly for best "just-got-woken-up-and-someone-took-my-f'ing-picture" award.  Congratulations Sutter!

Pack 6:

2.  Al Rosen
4.  Bill Mazeroski
26.  Enos Slaughter

33.  Gaylord Perry
81.  Tom Seaver

Whaddya know, a Yankee free pack (though the city of New York was still represented thanks to the Seaver card).  However, the best card is the Enos Slaughter - love the advertisements in the background, including Gem Razors!

I must say, it's sets like this that make me miss Upper Deck...at least a little bit...
