Delivery Time! Sports Cards Ate My Brain!

After the craziness that was putting together all the Better Know a Blogger series of posts, I didn't do much in the way of organizing incoming trades last week!  Luckily, it's a new week so hope springs eternal once again.

I don't even think that made sense but whatever.

Today's trade is brought to you by the wonderfully generous Scott over at Sports Cards Ate My Brain.  Scott sent me a huge pile of 2015 Topps Archives which was what our mutually agreed upon trade was built around.  However, in addition to the Archives, Scott also threw in a variety of cool Reds' cards that deserve a closer look.

First, a 2013 Topps Archives card that is construction crew orange.

What is this parallel?  Where did it come from?  Why is it so bright?  There are so many questions with this card...and I have no answers!

Next, an original deckle edge card.

That's Tommy Helms of the Reds - and it's a pretty cool card to own.  My vintage Reds' collection is fairly small so acquiring anything vintage is always a thrill for me.

Speaking of vintage (depending on what year you begin referring to sets as old):

Yeah, Scott really hooked me up big time with a lot of huge Reds' stars from back in the day!

And finally, as if all the above weren't good enough...

A beautiful on-card signature of the Mayor!  That's Sean Casey - and it's a great looking card.  I love the UD Retro line (even if it only last a couple of years - and the on-card autographs in the set look really, really good)!

Many thanks for the trade Scott!  And, as always, if anyone else would like to trade - check out my want list and make an offer!

  1. I believe that orange Archives is a Day Glow parallel.

  2. Cool auto. Maybe Sean is part Chinese.

  3. The Day Glo cards were distributed by Topps HTA hobby stores. I kept getting the packs for free as my local dealer and I were hoping I would get a George Brett one but no luck, I have a bunch of these.
