TCDB Monday!

Another week begins, and with that comes another TCDB Monday post!  I have a fair number of trades to show off from last week, so let's jump right in!

First up, from user 49ants is a trade that hit two different sets that I'm currently attempting to finish:

I've been trading for the missing 1997 Metal cards for quite some time now and that set is (finally) nearing completion!  I also recently added the 1998 Collector's Choice Stick-Ums to my want list; that set is now nearly complete!  The 1998 Collector's Choice set will always be a personal favorite of mine because that's one of the main sets that I bought as a kid.  I used to take my allowance and walk down to my local CVS drugstore and buy a pack or two of baseball cards.  Typically, Collector's Choice was about all I could ever afford (best bang for the buck, at least) so that's what I bought the most of at that time!

Next up, from the land of baseball card blogs is a package courtesy of marcbrubaker:

Marc sent me a pair of needed 2024 Allen & Ginter Chrome Refractors to go along with another needed mini from the '24 Ginter set.  It feels like I've been trading for 2024 A&G minis forever now...and yet, I'm still in need of so many more!  Topps has definitely made collecting the mini inserts much, much tougher in recent years - so much so that I'm considering scaling back what I attempt to collect in future years!

Speaking of minis, my final next swap was with user fowler279 and it netted me another needed mini card:

That's the final Got the Itch mini that I needed to acquire (I still need one more in hand but it's been purchased now)!  Since this is a scratch-n-sniff card, I can report that the card does vaguely smell like pine trees.  Such a fun gimmick from last year's A&G set, too bad it's impossible to store the cards in any real way where you can easily smell them.  Of course, who thought one would ever want to smell baseball cards in the first place?!

That does it for last week on TCDB.  We had some winter ice storms late last week which I think has delayed some of my mail since I was expecting a few more small packages to arrive.  No matter, all that means is that I should almost assuredly have something new to show off next week as well!

Have a great week, everyone, and keep those trades coming!
