This week marks Final Exam week at the college where I work. Final exams are always stressful for students, but the bright side for faculty and students alike is that in a few short days summer vacation kicks off!
Anything marked "no" means that I still need that particular card. Obviously, I am in need of the autographs (which are almost always priced too high for my blood), but there are a few base parallels that I might be able to track down for a more reasonable cost.
Summer vacation is coming at a great time for me since the past couple of months have definitely kept me busy (and oftentimes, away from the blog as evidenced by my sporadic posting lately). I've also barely had time to work out baseball card trades on TCDB, but I did get a single mailer back last week so at least I didn't get shutout completely!
My lone completed swap was with user Rooty10:
That's a 2018 Topps Museum Collection Canvas Collections Reprint card. I know almost nothing about the Topps Museum Collection line (it's always priced out of my range), but this is a much thicker than expected baseball card. I suppose it also has a nice texture to it, with the intent of having the card feel like it's printed on canvas.
I have a long ways to go before I can consider my Larkin Collection complete in terms of the 2018 Museum Collection set:

Looking at the big picture, according to my records, I now own 48 of the 200 Barry Larkin cards from 2018 (good for 24%). As a reminder, I don't attempt to collect anything with a stated print run under 25 copies. Even so, it's amazing that there are still 152 Barry Larkin cards from 2018 alone out there that I still need for my collection. Clearly, baseball cards are being produced at way too fast a clip for a retired guy like Larkin to have 200+ new cards in 2018!
Oh well, maybe a good summer project for me would be for me to pick one particular year and focus solely on acquiring Barry Larkin cards from that year.
