Monday = TCDB Mailbag

We've made it to another Monday, and with it, another TCDB mailbag post.  This past week was a busy one for me in terms of receiving mail, so let's get right to it!

We'll start with a PWE from user Cram2024:

This trade was interesting since I had many more valuable cards that Cram2024 wanted than what they had in return for me.  Instead of scuttling the trade, I added in the Elly card for my rapidly growing collection of the Reds' phenom, as well as the Dylan Cease card to use as part of a future card giveaway over on my Discord channel.  As for what I got for myself, two of the Barry Larkin cards were needed (the 2001 Fleer Legacy Ultimate as well as the 2005 Upper Deck Artifacts Rainbow Blue).  The Larkin Chrome is a duplicate, but it should prove useful for future Barry Larkin card swaps!

Next, from user wmwynn1967 comes a single 1997 Metal Universe card that I needed for my set build:

I'm nearly done with the '97 Metal Universe set.  Now that I have Kevin Brown's card safely tucked into my binder, I'm down to needing only #84 Jose Mesa and #197 Alex Ochoa.  In actuality, there are six other cards that I don't (yet) own from the set, but those should all be in upcoming TCDB trades, so I'm going to count them as owned for the purposes of this paragraph!

Up next is a small PWE from user tgreer:

That's a Chrome Refractor card from last year's Stadium Club set.  If only I had more time, money, and storage space, I'd love to build a full Stadium Club Chrome Refractor parallel set someday!

Sticking with single-card PWEs, my next envelope was from user eric51:

That's one of the final 35th Anniversary Chrome cards that I needed from this year's Topps Series 1 set.  I have decided to chase after the Series 2 Chrome cards from the silver packs as well, so if you have any available, let me know!  As for this card, it inches me a bit closer to completing the Series 1 portion of the set.  In fact, I'm now down to needing only five more cards for my set build!

I'm still not quite done going through my mail!  Next up, from userJdogbarkn2 comes those other Metal Universe cards that I mentioned earlier, plus another new-to-me Barry Larkin card.

The Barry Larkin card is the Home Team Advantage version from the 2003 Topps set.  Another pointless parallel in a long line of pointless parallels, but as a player collector, I still have this need to acquire them all!

And with that, I'm done with last week's mailbag!  Actually, that's not entirely true, as I did do one more trade that arrived...but that particular trade is worthy of its own post at a later date, so for now, I'm going to say I'm done with TCDB trades for the past week!

  1. Love the Larkin Chrome refractor! Best of luck tracking down the Mesa and Ochoa for your Metal set. You're so close.
