Delivery Time! Trade with blog reader Shawn

A few days ago, I posted a blog entry with a bunch of 2009 Topps Commemorative patches that I am planning on eventually listing on eBay. As always, I offered them all up for trade if anyone had some cards off of my want lists.

To date, only one of the patches has been claimed - and that single patch netted me a whole bunch of cards off of my want lists!

I traded blog reader Shawn the Cal Ripken Jr. Commemorative patch card, in return, he sent me the following cards off of my want lists:

1991 Topps:
I'm now only missing six cards from this set. My next older set I'm tackling (through trades) is the 1985 Topps set...hopefully people still have some of those cards lying around waiting to be given a new home...

Legends of the Game:
These are two of the nicer cards from the Legends of the Game insert set, at least I think so. I'm a big fan of any Clemente card so this was an extra nice addition to my collection.

Turkey Red:
I generally like Turkey Red, but these inserts have sort of worn out their luster with me. Perhaps it's because there are 50 of them in Series 1 and I seemed to pull way too many doubles...but it's become a slow process tracking down the remaining cards I need...and not a particularly interesting endeavor at that.

2009 Topps Heritage:
Short print:
Another difficult set, I've found it really difficult to find anyone with extra short prints for trade! Anytime I can knock another one of these off my want list, I'm a happy man since I love this set!

Chrome:
My collection is based primarily on what I like - if I like I set I'll generally try to collect the whole thing, if I don't...well, I usually don't bother (unless it's Upper Deck Spectrum, which suckered me in two years in a row and I've yet to finish either set since apparently I'm the only one stupid enough to buy/collect that set). Anyhow, I collected the entire Chrome set from the '07 Heritage set (which I loved) and I'm doing the same with the '09 Heritage set. I didn't bother with the '08 Heritage Chrome set though because I simply didn't like that set as much...I gotta draw a line somewhere after all!

Thanks again Shawn! This was a great example of a win/win trade...Shawn got a card he wanted without having to resort to eBay and I got a whole bunch of cards knocked off of a variety of my want lists...something that would have taken 4 or 5 different eBay auctions (each with shipping fees) for me to accomplish. If anyone else would like to work out a trade, check out my want list and then make an offer!
