Pack Wars I: Pack 08 - 2006 Topps Series 2

It's time to bust the first of two different rack packs. First, the three paneled 2006 Topps Series 2 rack pack. For the purposes of Pack Wars, it seemed only fair to treat each of the three sections as their own "pack." In theory, it's possible that after the rack pack is busted Box #2 could be tied in total pack wins and ahead in total points...

Pack #08: 2006 Topps Series 2 - Top Panel

Box 1:

338. Livan Hernandez (A National...*yawn* 0 points)
391. Casey Blake (Pretty good player lately, but not worth anything for Pack Wars. 0 points)
511. Dmitri Young (Here's an ex-Red that I always kind of liked. You could always count on Dmitri to get a double. +5 points)
541. Oliver Perez (A Pirate! +2 points)

543. Edinson Volquez (Hey, it's a non-Red card of a Reds player that I really like. +5 points)

553. Chris Duffy (Argh matey, this be the Pirate pack! +2 points)

607. 2005 Chicago Cubs Team Card (well, it couldn't all be positive. -1 point for being the Cubs.)

Total points: 0 + 0 + 5 + 2 + 5 + 2 - 1 = 13 points.

Not a bad total considering that I didn't expect anything good out a pack where you could see six of the cards through the cellophane wrapper.

Box 2:

355. Jon Papelbon (A Red Sox means -2 points)
382. Steve Trachsel (0 points, it sure seems like I've pulled a lot of Mets so far)
407. Kevin Youkilis (A second Red Sox. Another -2 points)
519. Julio Lugo (0 points)
522. Jason Isringhausen (A Cardinal, -1 point. Not a good pack for Box 2...which seems to be a theme for most of these packs.)
562. Jose Castillo (A Pirate! The third Pirate in the upper panel between the two packs. This is good enough for +2 points)
602. 2005 Philadelphia Phillies (0 points)
