Topps 2010 Million Card Giveaway - Results

For once, having to work all day on a national holiday turned out to be an ok thing.  While others had to spend the day waiting for Topps' website to go active, I worked all day, came home, and dinner, and then wham, bam, thank you ma'am here's my redeemed cards.

Before I share the cards that I got, I must give Topps some credit.  I fully expected to get a bunch of crap - and while I did get some crap, it wasn't as crappy of crap as I thought it would be.  Sure, it's a bit of backhanded compliment, but it's still a compliment!

Enough of that, let's see the cards I got!  I bought a jumbo box of 10 packs and each jumbo pack contains a code card...  First, my predictions of what I might get (as posted yesterday):
Prediction:  6 cards from the '80s  -->  Actual: 5 cards
Prediction:  1 card from the '70s  -->  Actual: 3 cards
Prediction:  3 card from the '00s  -->  Actual: 1 card  (woo!)  plus 1 card from the 1960s!

The results - in the order I entered the codes.

Micheal Tucker - 2005
Don Elston - 1961

Robin Yount - 1989
Alan Trammell - 1981
Joe Horlen - 1971

Tony Gwynn - 1987
Bob Melvin - 1987
Dave Marshall - 1970
Paul Kilgus - 1988
AL Pitching Leaders (Lolich, Blue, Wood) - 1972

Overall, I can't complain too much I suppose!  I'm happy nabbing a 1961 Topps card and the 1972 pitching leaders card is snazzy as well.  Even the 1987 Topps cards could have been worse, Gwynn is at least one of the better names in the set!  Well done Topps, well done!

Comments

  1. Nice with the vintage. I only had three codes, I netted a 1988, 1987, and 1992.

  4. Sweet. Nice haul. My wife took the kids to Target and Isaac came home with two packs, each with a Million Card card. Isaac said I could have those as long as he got the Topps Town cards. Deal!
