Barry Larkin
Year: 1992
Brand: Topps
Subset: All-Star
Card number: 389
The 1992 Topps set featured a couple of Barry Larkin cards. I already featured his regular base card in the set. Unfortunately for a Larkin collector, the All-Star version of Barry is even more boring than his base card. Even more unfortunate, my favorite part of the 1992 set was the small photo of the team's stadium - but the All-Star cards feature no such stadium shot (they should have used Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego since that is where the game was held that year).
As for the card itself, probably the best part is the fact that the '91 Reds had three players in the top 10 of batting average (including Larkin of course). I always liked Chris Sabo when I was younger, but I never thought of him as having a particularly high batting average...it's amazing what you can learn - even 19 years later!
