TCDB Monday: It's a Monster, Folks!

Delivery Time! Huge Trade With Blog Reader Steve (Part II)

You can read all about Part I of one of the largest trades I've made via blogs that I posted a few days ago.  Today, we turn our attention to Part II of the trade.

2008 Topps American Heritage:
128.  Barack Obama

130.  Barack Obama
133.  John McCain
134.  John McCain

135.  John McCain
138.  Barack Obama
140.  Barack Obama

It's been a long time since I've been able to remove any of the American Heritage cards from my want list.  Thanks to this bunch of cards, I'm now only missing the following cards from the base set: 127, 132, 137, 143, 144, 147, 148, 149, 150.  If you happen to have any of those for trade - please let me know!

2009 Upper Deck Spectrum:
9.  Brian Roberts
25.  Ken Griffey Jr.

41.  Carlos Lee
73.  Chase Utley

Oh yes, I'm trying to collect this bright purple ugly little set.  When I first started the collection, I figured it was only a 100 card set with no short prints, how hard could it be?  Well, it's turned out to be plenty difficult, mostly because no one but me (or so it seems) bought any of the purple catastrophe known as '09 Spectrum.  That said, I'm finally down to needing only two cards (#47 and 63).  As always, any help is appreciated!

2008 Upper Deck Goudey:
324.  Ernie Banks

Yay!  Another Goudey short print for my collection.  It may take me another five or six years to finish this set (at the rate I'm going anyhow), but that doesn't mean I'll give up.  Of all the cards that I got from Steve, this is probably one of my most favorites (they are all favorites though since I needed them all).  It's a simple design, but it works well for the retired baseball stars.  It was cards like this that convinced me to try for the full Goudey set to begin with - so it's only fair that I acquire a few nice ones from time to time!

2004 Upper Deck Vintage:
10.  Pedro Martinez

55.  Dmitri Young

95.  Brad Wilkerson
126.  Juan Gonzalez
160.  Raul Ibanez
235.  Jose Reyes

259.  Jae Weong Seo
289.  Guillermo Mota

The back of the Dmitri Young card has a misspelling - they spelled Young's name as "Dimitri".  Whoops!  I recently added the '04 Vintage set to my want list - and I'm surprised a bit by how little trade interest there has been for the set.  I do know I made the right decision to forget about chasing the short prints - I guess most people either already got rid of their Vintage cards or they wish to keep them at this point.  Live and learn I guess!

Thanks (once again) for all the great cards Steve.  There's still more goodies to come - but for anyone who wants to work out a trade, check out my want list and make an offer!
