It's hard to believe, but at the conclusion of Round 1O we will have concluded 15 full votes. That means that we've decided on 30 different Larkin cards that will move on to round 2 (and we've sent 30 cards home - relegated back to the binder). Today, we take a look at another four cards - once again, two will move on and two will go home. Which two will move on - it's all up to your vote!
2003 Donruss:
For most of the '00s, I had no interest in Donruss products whatsoever. However, after busting a couple of boxes of various Donruss products for a few recent group breaks, I'm beginning to wish I had paid more attention to the "other" baseball card brand that was active at the time. This particular card is typical of what I thought all Donruss stuff was like - adequate yet boring. Of course, some of Donruss' non-base stuff was pretty cool...but alas, this isn't one of those cards!
1993 Upper Deck Diamond Gallery:
This particular card reminds me of something that I would get at either Dennys or out of a cereal box. As such, it's difficult for me take it too seriously...but people do love them some holograms so maybe, just maybe this card will sneak into the second round!
1993 Topps Full Shot:
Up until now, all the featured cards have been typical (in that they have all been of normal baseball card size). That changes now! This card measures 3.5" x 5" (hence the name Full Shot). It's not an exciting picture - and you know I don't much care for the vertical text - but it's still a unique addition to my Larkin Collection. Will the odd ball card beat out the three more standard cards or is it "once an outcast, always an outcast?" We shall find out soon enough.
1992 Topps Stadium Club
Stadium Club is one for one so far in the Larkin Experiment (the '93 Stadium Club card won Round 1H). Will the 1992 Stadium Club join his younger brother in the second round or will the great Stadium Club family suffer their first humiliating defeat? I have no idea - but again, we'll find out soon enough!
