Group Break 3: 1998 Flair Showcase - Packs 15, 16, & 17

It's time to open three more packs of the most parallel laden set of the break - Flair Showcase!

Pack 15:
2.  Flair - Showtime:  Travis Lee - Diamondbacks
53.  Flair - Showstopper:  David Justice - Indians
69.  Flair - Showdown:  Eric Karros - Dodgers
98.  Flair - Showpiece:  Brad Radke - Twins
7.  Style - Showstopper:  Alex Rodriguez - Mariners

Not a lot in that pack to get excited about, although I suppose the A-Rod is a fairly nice card.

Pack 16:
12.  Flair - Showtime:  Todd Helton - Rockies
66.  Flair - Showdown:  Dante Bichette - Rockies
95.  Flair - Showpiece:  Jeff King - Royals
4.  Style - Showstopper:  Ben Grieve - Athletics
47.  Showcase - Showdown:  Paul Molitor - Twins #280/500

That was a much better pack than the previous pack!  The Rockies scored a couple of nice cards but the real winner was the Twins with the Showcase card of Molitor numbered out of 500.  As far as the numbering goes, the Showcase cards are the second rarest of all the Showcase variations, truly a nice pull!  That's the second serially numbered Twins card for Tim in the break!

Pack 17:
7.  Flair - Showtime:  Alex Rodriguez - Mariners
49.  Flair - Showstopper:  Manny Ramirez - Indians
92.  Flair - Showpiece:  Willie Greene - Reds
34.  Style - Showtime:  Bobby Higginson - Tigers
92.  Style - Showdown:  Willie Greene - Reds

Of course, I pull a pair of Willie Greene's in the box instead of finding a single Barry Larkin card.  Grr!  I guess that's the dangers of a group break and I probably shouldn't complain about two Reds in a pack no matter who they are.

  1. Willie Greene would have been a fan favorite of the A's.
